In the home care industry, there is no industry without our dedicated caregivers, who are our life’s blood. We recognize the critical role they play in caring for our community and the seniors in it, which is why we are restructuring the Jean Griswold Foundation’s mission to focus on helping caregivers with education, training, and professional needs.
Since its creation over a decade ago, the Jean Griswold Foundation’s primary objective was to provide grants to community non-profit organizations that enhance the quality of life for low-income seniors and adults with disabilities. Now, we are expanding our reach to mainly support caregivers to help better their lives. We want franchise owners to join us in attracting committed and passionate talent to their businesses.

We are always looking for prospective franchisees who are enthusiastic about home care, running a successful business, and making a difference in the lives of others and their communities. This is our ultimate goal as we continue growing and opening up more franchise locations in North America and across the globe.
We are putting our efforts into attracting and supporting caregivers and expanding our foundation’s great work to benefit our senior care franchise owners and strengthen their businesses. As the first non-medical home care franchise to open in the U.S., we’re so proud of our legacy and want to continue building upon it in 2021 and beyond. Our aim with this new foundation focus is to enhance the profession of caregiving and bring dignity to those who commit their lives to helping others, that includes our fantastic home care franchise owners.
Not only are we awarding a talented caregiver with the Jean Griswold Caregiver Scholarship in November 2021, but we’re also planning to award one of our own with the Caregiver Support Grant. While the scholarship is open to any deserving caregiver, our grant is only available to a Griswold Home Care professional to help during times of personal or professional hardship. We expect to award this initial grant in April 2021—the anniversary month of the company’s founding—to a deserving caregiver who needs assistance. We hope this grant and other financial awards will encourage others to pay it forward and make advertising for caregiving opportunities easier for current senior care franchise owners.
As we move into the new year with a reinvigorated need to impact our community and our brand, we want others to know how hard our caregivers and franchise owners work. We understand that our people are our greatest assets, and we can’t succeed without them. We’ve set ourselves up to be a differentiator in the home care industry, and our Foundation has been a significant outlier in our company’s history.
We are very proud of the changes we’ve made to our foundation’s focus and excited to award the first Caregiver Scholarship and Griswold Home Care Grant to some amazing individuals this year.
