How Much Does It Cost to Open a Griswold Home Care Franchise?

Investing in a Griswold Non-Medical Home Care Franchise Creates a Path to Meaningful Impact
Contents

The total initial investment for a Griswold Home Care franchise ranges from $99,600 to $185,600. That range comes from Item 7 of our Franchise Disclosure Document and covers your first six months of operation.

Most of that investment goes to three places. The franchise fee buys access to the brand, the training, and the support behind it. The second bucket covers setting up a small office and getting licensed and insured, and the rest goes toward carrying payroll and other bills while your client base grows.

Where you land in the range depends on your market, your territory size, and how quickly you hire. Here's how each piece breaks down.

The Initial Franchise Fee

The initial franchise fee runs $49,500 to $54,500. The low end covers a standard territory. Owners who want a territory that serves a larger population pay an additional $5,000.

That fee gives you access to the Griswold brand, a business model refined over more than 40 years, and state-of-the-art training and support from the day you sign.

Honorably discharged veterans receive 20% off their first franchise fee. See our veteran franchise opportunities for details.

Training and Office Setup Costs

Most of your early spending goes toward getting trained and opening a working office.

  • Living expenses while training: $3,000 to $5,000. Budget for your own living costs while you complete initial training.
  • Office lease: $9,500 to $15,000. This typically covers a security deposit, first and last months' rent, and setup. Your market sets where you land in that range.
  • Office equipment: $2,500 to $4,000. Furniture, computers, and phones for you and your office staff.
  • Software: $1,750. A flat first-year software fee plus installation.
  • Other technology: $1,250 to $3,500. Any additional tech you need to run the office day to day.
  • Signage, supplies, and inventory: $100 to $1,750 combined. Signage runs $50 to $1,000, and opening supplies run $50 to $750.

Insurance, Licensing, and Compliance

Home care is regulated at the state level, so this part of the budget depends heavily on where you open.

  • Insurance: $3,800 to $4,800. This covers six months of general liability and workers' compensation premiums.
  • Licenses, permits, and certificates: $0 to $7,500. Depending on your state, these costs can be nothing at all or reach the top of the range.

Printed Materials and Shipping

Plan on $1,200 to $1,800 for business cards, brochures, and other printed collateral that introduce your office to families and referral partners.

Additional Funds: The Biggest Variable

We recommend $27,000 to $86,000 in additional funds to carry you through your first six months. This money covers payroll, rent, utilities, marketing, and other operating expenses while your client base grows. How quickly you hire, how fast you add clients, and local wage levels all shape where you fall.

What Moves Your Investment Up or Down?

Three factors do most of the work:

  1. Your market. Lease rates, wages, and licensing requirements vary widely by state and city.
  2. Territory size. A larger territory adds $5,000 to the franchise fee.
  3. Your growth pace. More early hiring means more working capital before revenue catches up.

Our franchise development team can help you estimate where your market will land.
