Griswold Home Care Franchise FAQ

What is Griswold?
We are the nation’s first non-medical home care franchise, and our matriarch, Jean Griswold, founded us out of a true sense of need in her community. Her legacy of compassion and empathy has blossomed into one of the most successful and storied franchise systems in the United States, with nearly 200 locations open across the country. Griswold franchisees are among the highest-performing and longest-tenured in the $89 billion home care industry*, and their shared commitment with our passionate executive team is why the American Association of Franchisees and Dealers named us the 2017 Franchisor of the Year.
What services do we provide?

What experience do I need?
None! We recommend that you have a proven track record of leadership experience, are confident in your ability to manage people, and have an entrepreneurial spirit and the drive to follow our proven business model as you bring Griswold to your community.
I’ve never owned a business before. Do you offer training and support?
Griswold is led by a passionate team that works tirelessly to ensure that your business will be a success from the moment you sign the franchise agreement. From the outset, we offer support to launch your business, 4 total weeks of owner training, field support at your grand opening, and an exceptional on-going training platform that includes pointers for hiring the right employees, how to make sales and build a referral base of customers and caregivers, how to market effectively, and much more. We check in on an ongoing basis to help you become established.
How large of a space do I need?
This is up to you! We do require you to have an office, but we will leave the decision on how much space you need up to you. We are available, however, to advise and to answer any questions you have on this matter, including what area you might consider for your business.
How many employees do I need?
Griswold franchisees employ the best home care professionals. The number of staff depends on how many clients you are helping. In the beginning, you will start with a few caregivers and either a full-time Care Coordinator or Marketer to help you ramp up the business. As you become established, you will need to scale the business accordingly. We will help you to hire caregivers during your training session, and we will help you scale your business in a smart fashion so that you will be able to hire more employees and take on more jobs as you grow.
Why is Griswold a great fit for veterans?
Veterans are uniquely qualified to franchise with Griswold, as they have a proven ability to follow systems, procedures, and processes necessary to make any venture successful. Veterans also possess an intangible desire of wanting to make a difference and to protect and serve selflessly. These qualities are at the core of who we are as a company. Because our business model is easy to run and easy to scale, Griswold is a perfect fit for honorably discharged veterans who aspire to turn their dreams of entrepreneurship into reality. Honorably discharged veterans are eligible to receive a 10% discount off their first franchise fee.
